Phil Thompson
Chairman (1959)
”Changing quickly to meet our customer’s emerging demands has been central to our success.”During his more than 30 years at Industrial Supply, Phil held various leadership roles. As its former president, he helped lead the company from the Industrial Age into the Technological Age. His vision, leadership and ability to establish close, positive relationships with customers, employees, vendors and local leaders alike has helped to position the company for ongoing, long-term success.
Chris Bateman
Chief Executive Officer (1982)
“Industrial Supply is a part of this community, and we care about giving back.”Chris began at Industrial Supply in 1982 and has held several leadership roles in sales, marketing and business development. As Senior Vice President of National Contracts, Chris built the company’s marketing from the ground up, putting key processes in place to manage long-term contracts with Industrial Supply’s biggest customers. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in June 2012.
Randy Evans
President of Contruction, Safety and Mining (1979)
“I still believe what customers want is good, old-fashioned service.”Randy, grandson of Industrial Supply’s founder, joined Industrial Supply in 1979 and worked his way through various roles to his current position as President of Construction, Safety and Mining. Randy is deeply committed to training and inspiring Industrial’s employees to provide customers with the very best possible service.
Jessica Polychronis
Vice President of Procurement and Marketing (1999)
“We don’t just provide a place for people to work; we provide a place for people to grow.”As the Vice President of Marketing and Procurement, Jessica runs the company's retail space and marketing programs that promote the company's services, and supplier products. With her leadership, the company has grown its stocked inventory to include more than 50,000 items.
Shawn Newell
Vice President of Sales (1985)
“Education is a path to success.”Shawn approaches his leadership role in Sales with the same competitive spirit that drove him to succeed in football at the University of Utah, and with the Chicago Bears. With more than 20 years at Industrial Supply, Shawn views his connection to customers as essential to understanding their needs. “We differentiate ourselves at Industrial Supply by being proactive and creating value for our customers.”
Anthony Reed
Vice President of Technology (1982)
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”After earning his degree in Business Finance at the University of Utah, Anthony was promoted to run the Accounting Department. His natural talent for information technology earned him a promotion to oversee the Technology Department, and launched him into his current role.
Ruben Mendez
Vice President of Operations and Customer Service (1997)
“You can pick up the phone and talk to the President or the CEO directly. If you have a good suggestions or a good plan, you will get support.”As a Lean Enterprise Expert and Six Sigma Black Belt, Ruben has used his expertise to streamline the company’s operations. Ruben is highly involved in the community, supporting the City of Salt Lake’s efforts to provide non-English speaking workers with safety training, and serving on the advisory board of Utah-Mexico trade.
Carolyn Bartlett
Human Resource Manager (1973)

This interaction helps her keep the company focused on its people, including customers, shareholders and employee associates.
Kellie Bartz
Director of Accounting and Finance (2012)
“I love working for Industrial Supply because of the people—they bring great passion to serving our clients and community.”Kellie started her finance career at Industrial Supply twenty years ago, returning in 2012 to take on the role of Director of Accounting and Finance. Prior to returning to Industrial, she worked as the Corporate Accounting Manager at Adobe Systems Incorporated and as a senior auditor with Price Waterhouse Coopers. As Director of Accounting and Finance, she oversees all aspects of the accounting and financial management.
