Letter from Chairman of The Board, Phil Thompson

Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, it wasn't uncommon to be surrounded and influenced by a very homogeneous group. I was extremely fortunate, however, that during my lifetime, I was able to experience the strengths and unique contributions that different cultures have to offer.

I developed lifelong friendships, some of which began in my early years, with many Latinos, African-Americans, Pacific Islanders and Asians. These relationships have helped me to grow personally and professionally. As a business leader, I feel that I can honor these relationships by empowering others to expand their human experience through cultural diversity. We are a stronger company today because many cultures are represented in our executive leadership. We believe it is one of the most important reasons that we continue to grow as a company and are now celebrating 100 years of doing business in the Intermountain Region.
